William Brunton Obituary

William E. Brunton, 82 of Glouster passed away
Saturday August 9, 2008 at the Hickory Creek
Nursing Center, The Plains. Born May 12, 1926
in Athens County, he was the son of the late
Everett and Garnett McClellan Brunton. He was
a WWII navy veteran and retired from the
Operating Engineers Local #18 where he worked
as a dozer operator. He was a member of the
Oakdale Church of Christ, attended the
Glouster United Methodist Church, a member of
the Glouster Masonic Lodge #607 F&AM, and was
an avid bass fisherman.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie McClelland
Brunton of Glouster; two sons, William
(Gloria) Brunton of Sugar Grove and Bruce
(Carol) Brunton of Glouster; one daughter,
Beverlee Brunton Simons of Glouster; three
step daughters, Kathy (Frank) Liskey of
Glouster, Brenda (Mick) McClelland of
Glouster, and Mary Beth (Terry) Everett of
Williamstown, WV; nine grandchildren; six step
grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; eight
step great grandchildren; and one sister,
Donna Mae Everett of Glouster.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by his first wife, Betty Reeves Brunton; a
granddaughter, Cindy Mae Brunton; and a
sister, Marlene Hartley.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday August 13, 2008 at the Morrison
Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.
Interment will be in the Glouster Cemetery
where there will be a military graveside
service conducted by the Combined Color Guard
Unit. Friends may call at the funeral home on
Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A
