Wilda Garey Willison, 102 of Corning, passed away Friday August 14, 2026, at her residence. Born October 9, 1923, in Moxahala, she was the daughter of the late Perry and Lucinda Abrams Garey.
Wilda was known for her strong work ethic and long-standing ties to the Corning community. She worked for several years at the Glouster Aluminum Factory in Corning before later joining the Stonefront Restaurant and Bar, where she continued working until age 82. She was one of the four remaining charter members of the Corning Eagles #463 F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Perry County Senior Citizens. Wilda loved to play bingo and slot machines.
She is survived by sons, Gary Willison of Bainbridge and Jerry Willison of Corning; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and numerous friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Willison; children, Bob Garey, Linda Kranyik, Warren “Sonny” Willison, John Willison, Paul Willison, Jim Willison, and Bonnie Hinkle; siblings, Thelma Hinkle, Joann Woods, Louis “Luke” Garey, Bill Garey, Hap Garey, and Mary Altier; and a daughter-in-law, Rene Willison.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday August 19, 2026, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Mary Perani officiating. Interment will be in the Iliff Cemetery, Crooksville. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with an Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Service held at 7:30 p.m. A message of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.morrisonfc.com.
