Virginia Harriett Shaw Love Moore, 85, of
Glouster passed away Thursday November 9, 2006
at her residence. She was born January 28,
1921 in Glouster. She was the third child of
William and Anna Love Shaw. Due to the death
of her mother when she was 3 months old, she
was raised by her grandparents, James and Mary
Love of Oakdale. She has spent her entire
life in this home of, now 7 generations. She
was an active member of the Oakdale Church of
Christ all of her life, and she was faithful
until the end. She graduated from Hollister
High School. She worked 8 years for Trimble
Local Schools, 4 years as a cafeteria cook and
4 years as cafeteria supervisor, 1 year as
cook at Hocking Valley Motor Lodge, and 8
years as a personal cook for former Ohio
University President Charles Ping and family.
She was a member of the Oakdale friendship
circle since 1941, Past President of
Marcellite Rebekah Lodge #401, and the Past
Noble Grands Club, a member of the Rothwell
Club, Three Star Senior Citizens, she was an
active member of the Glouster Project since
1983, for six years she has worked with the
STARS program at Trimble Elementary School
working with Mr. Newman and his 4th graders,
and a member of T.O.P.S. Virginia loved
life. Family and friends meant so much to
her, and her love for God first in her life
made it all rewarding and worthwhile. She was
the wife of the late Edward Moore of Glouster
who passed away February 12, 1981. They were
married on August 9, 1941. From this union
was born the following children, John Ellis
(Patty) Moore of Jacksontown, Richard Edward
(Marilyn) Moore of Glouster, Paul Eugene (Sue)
Moore of Glouster, and Mary Elaine (John)
Taylor of Glouster; 9 grandchildren, Darci,
Stasi, Mike, Scott, Kevin, Misty, Crystal,
Johnathon and Courtney and their spouses; a
step granddaughter, Shannon; and 13 great
grandchildren.
Besides her husband, parents, and
grandparents, she was preceded in death by a
brother, Walter Shaw and a sister Delores
Fulton.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Monday November 13, 2006 at the Morrison
Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with
Rodger Powell and John Wright officiating.
Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery,
Glouster. Friends may call at the funeral
home on Sunday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
