Violet Duncan Obituary

Violet Duncan, 85, of Jacksonville, passed away
Saturday January 14, 2006 at her daughter's
residence. Born January 9, 1921, she was the
daughter of the late Dan and Naomi Hashman
Adams.

She formerly owned and operated the Jam Bar and
Shingle Inn in Glouster, and Duncan's Carryout
in Jacksonville. She was a social member of
the Jacksonville V.F.W. Post #9866.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Dulcie (Frank)
Kamento of Jacksonville, Shirley Carter and
special friend Larry Bickley of Glouster; 11
grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 25 great
great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Norma Jean
North of Glouster, and Dulcie Rinehart of
Athens.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by her husband George Duncan; a son
Melvin "PeeWee" Duncan; a daughter Joann; 2
grandchildren Karen Jago and Robert Sinclair; 3
sisters, Kathleen Johnson, Delores Gibbs, and
Tressie Huffman; and one brother Paul Adams.

A very special thanks from the family of Violet
to the staff at the Pine Hills Nursing Center,
Nelsonville.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on
Monday January 16, 2006 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville. Interment will
be in the Maplewood Cemetery. Friends may call
at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
