Trey D. Dixon, 32 of Glouster passed away Friday January 19, 2024. He was born February 27, 1991, in Athens. He was a certified welder and was a member of the Local 18 Operator's Union in Columbus. Trey loved his boys, Brycen and Jaxon, the Dallas Cowboys and catfishing with his sons and brothers. He was also a Trimble Youth League Coach.
He is survived by his mother, Marcy Doughty Dixon of Athens; bonus parents, Bert and Miranda Sharrer of Jacksonville; his sons, Brycen and Jaxon and their mother, Megan Sharrer of Jacksonville; brothers, Kyle of Jacksonville and his daughters, Kenlynn and Kylie, Anthony (Amy Walker) of Glouster, and sons, Aidan and Quintin and daughter, Tinley (Papa Trey's girl), Jordan of Glouster and daughter, Oakley Ella; sisters, Karessa (Chris Reed) of Columbus, and son, Tucker, and daughters, Payton and Khloe, and Krissy of Lancaster, and son, Cameron and daughter, Skyler; bonus brothers and sister, Brian, Bert, Brent, and Kendra Sharrer and Clyde Shirkey; aunt and uncles, Marla and Mike Azbell and sons, Michael and Matthew of Jacksonville, Michelle Doughty and Steve Bigley and daughter, Krista (Evan Ellison) of Guysville, Jane Dixon of Glouster and sons, Matthew and Joel, Larry and Karla Dixon of Glouster and sons, Kasey and Kalum (Amy), and daughter, Kelly; special friends Joe and Carrie Pallo and daughters, Allison, Josie, and Jenna of Jacksonville; several great nieces and nephews; and his best friend and confidant and love of his life, Ashley Woods of Athens.
He was preceded in death by his fathers, John Ray Dixon; grandparents, Gary and Roberta Doughty, John and Joyce Dixon; and an uncle, Matt Dixon.
A scholarship fund will be set up in the Dixon family name in Trey's honor by his brother, Anthony, which will go to a hard-working athlete that gave their all every single practice and game and showed their support for their teammates.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday January 26, 2024, at the Bishopville Church of Christ with Pastors Terry Holbert and Michael Hurst officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions can be made to Morrison Funeral Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
