Tommy F. Stemen, 83 of Glouster passed away Monday September 9, 2024, at his residence with his loving wife of 31 years, Cynthia, by his side. Born May 19, 1941, in New Lexington, he was the son of the late Isaac W. and Alta B. (Hockman) Stemen. He graduated from New Lexington High School and served in the United States Army. He worked for Lambert Sheet Metal in Columbus for several years. Tommy was a 50-year member and Past Master of the Thornville Masonic Lodge #521, a 32nd Degree Mason in the Valley of Columbus, a dual member of the Glouster and Buckeye Lake Eagles, Glouster Moose, and the Jacksonville V.F.W.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia M. (McClelland) Stemen; three stepchildren, Michael (Cheryl) Skunza, Debra (Jeff Morrow) Carabin, and Brian Skunza; two children, Andy Stemen and Aarin Waldon and fiancé, Chad; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Betty Lambert; and several nieces and nephews. He was blessed with some very good friends, Gary Braglin and sons, and Susie Slater.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John, Floyd, Raymond, and Charles; and a brother-in-law, Carl “Snap” Lambert.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday September 14, 2024, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating. Interment will be in the Dew Cemetery, Perry County where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be an Eagles service conducted on Friday at 5 p.m. and a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Bishopville Food Pantry, 6555 State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio 45732.
