Terry L. Spears

Terry L. Spears, 63 of Athens passed away Friday April 3, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.  Born September 8, 1962 in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Harold and Mable Charlene Nutt Spears.  Terry was an auto mechanic.  He enjoyed riding horses and hunting, with a particular fondness for deer hunting.

He is survived by sons, Harold Joseph Spears Sr. and Gary (Micaela) Giffin; a daughter, Paula Giffin; a grandson, Harold Joseph Spears Jr.; a brother, Delmer (Connie) Spears; a sister, Rose Bryan; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Luerna Giffin Spears;a grandson, Travis Spears; a brother, Harold “Junior” Spears; two sisters, Betty Atkins and Virginia “Buttons” Spears.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday April 25, 2026 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel.  Family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
