Shirley A. Minerd, 73 of Glouster passed away
Wednesday June 10, 2009 at her son's residence
in Columbus. Born May 6, 1936 in Athens
County, she was the daughter of the late Basil
A. and Audrey M. Lonas Minerd. She was a
member of the Jacksonville Eagles and was an
avid bingo player.
She is survived by one son, Ronald (Sue)
Morris of Columbus; one daughter, Debra Perez
of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; two special
grandsons, Ronnie (Casey) Morris and Gerald
Perez and family; several great grandchildren;
one brother, Gary Minerd of North Carolina;
two sisters, Jean Secoy of Athens and Donna
Creighton of Columbus; special nieces, Lynn
Minerd and Cara France; and a special little
friend "Bub"; and several other nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by six brothers, Eddie, J.R., Richard,
Charles, Larry, and Roger Minerd.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on
Saturday June 13, 2009 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville. Interment will
be in the Clarks Chapel Cemetery, Athens.

Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of
