Robert L. Sayre

Robert L. Sayre, 84, of Jacksonville, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.  Born on August 12, 1941, in Jacksonville, Robert was the son of the late Harry A. Sayre and Frances J. Judson Sayre.

Robert retired from O.D.O.T. District 10, where he served as a project supervisor. He was also a member of the Jacksonville Eagles. He enjoyed gardening and working on remodeling projects.

He is survived by two sons, Robert D. Sayre and Bradley A. (Shelly Shafer) Sayre, both of Jacksonville; a daughter, Suzanne E. (Randy) Jensen of Lancaster; grandchildren, Brandon Jensen and Austin Sayre; a sister-in-law, Sharon Sayre of Athens; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances E. Kearns Sayre; a sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Jerry Taylor; and a brother, Larry A. Sayre.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
