Robert W. Pierce, 55 of Chauncey passed away
Friday November 16, 2007 at his residence. He
was born April 22, 1952 in Athens County. He
retired from the Appalachian Behavior Health
Care Center after 30 years of service. He was
the former owner and operator of the Quick
Stop in Chauncey, a member of the Chauncey
Lion's Club and a former Chauncey council
member. He was an avid Cleveland Brown's fan
and a loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Julie
Hickman Pierce of Chauncey; his father, John
(Ann Sapp) Pierce of Chauncey; a son, Robby D.
Pierce of Chauncey; a daughter, Teri Pierce of
Chauncey; a grandson, Nathaniel Gregory of
Chauncey; 5 brothers, Phillip "Corky" (Sue)
Blackford of Pomeroy, John E. (Somsri) Pierce
of Xenia, Kenny (Diane) Pierce of Athens, Mike
(Vicky) Pierce of The Plains, and Rich (Karen)
Pierce of Chauncey; a sister, Mary (Tom)
VanDyke of Albany; 2 brother-in-laws, James
(Penny) Hickman of Nelsonville and Bill
(Susie) Hickman of New Lexington; 2 special
friends, Randy Rasmussen and Mark Miller; and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen
Blackford Pierce; 2 brothers, Paul and Jerry
Pierce; a sister, Beth Pierce; father-in-law
James Hickman; mother-in-law, Edna Hickman;
and a brother-in-law, David Hickman.
The family would like to thank the Appalachian
Visiting Nurses and staff and a special thank
you to Dr. Tracy Marx and Kara Schoonover R.N.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Wednesday November 21, 2007 at the Bishopville
Church of Christ with Rev. William Hunter
officiating. Interment will be in the
Pedigo Cemetery, York Township. Friends may
call at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-
Bishopville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
p.m. Contributions can be made to the
Appalachian Visiting Nurses, 30 Herrold Ave.,
