Robert B. "Bob" Angle, 77 of Glouster passed
away on Saturday February 9, 2008. Born
December 6, 1930 in Zanesville, he was the son
of the late Robert D. and Cathryn Sorrell
Angle. Bob was a meat cutter for 50 years.
He was the owner and operator of Angle's Meat
Market in Glouster and then retired from the
Logan Meat Supply. He was a Korean War Army
veteran. During his army career, he was on
the boxing team. Prior to his military
service, he participated in Golden Gloves
boxing. He was a 1947 graduate of Glouster
High School. He attended the Greenbrier, West
Virginia Military Academy where he was a half
back and linebacker on the football team. He
then transferred to Ohio University where he
was also a half back and linebacker on their
football team. He was a member of the
Bishopville Church of Christ, the Bishopville-
Trimble Masonic Lodge #557, he was a 32nd
Degree Scottish Rite Mason, a former Glouster
City Council Member, a member of the Glouster
Board of Public Affairs, the acting mayor of
Glouster, a former member of the Mansfield
Jaycees, a Trimble Township Youth League
baseball coach, and he participated in the
senior Olympics in Athens. He was an avid
dancer, pool player, euchre player, Trimble
sports fan, and enjoyed boating, water skiing,
and spending time with his family and
friends. He enriched the lives of everyone he
touched.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois
J. Garrett Angle, whom he married on December
22, 1951; 2 sons, Rex (Cindy) Angle of
Lynnwood, WA. and David (Sharon) Angle of
Glouster; 1 daughter, Cathy Jo (Donnie) Corne
of Laurelville; 5 grandchildren, Nathan Angle,
Josh Angle, Brock (Beth Birchfield) Hogue,
Kristen Angle, and Steven Angle; 2 great
grandchildren, Parker Hogue and Sadie Kai; 7
step grandchildren, Isaac Riley, Dusty Corne,
Donni Kincaid, Robert Lee Kincaid, Casey
Kincaid, and Travis and Carletta Carr; 2
honorary grandchildren, Kameron and Brandon
Carter; 2 brothers, Jan (Diana) Angle and Eric
Angle, both of Glouster; nieces and nephews;
special friends, Brian Sayers, Larry Richards,
Eric Bingman, David Butt, Neil and Jeannine
Butt, Roger and Janice Dillon, Al and Vickie
Cote, and Chris and Jason Knoderer.
At Bob's request, he will be cremated and a
memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on
Friday February 15, 2008 at the Bishopville
Church of Christ with John Wright
officiating. The family will receive friends
from 4 p.m. until the time of service. A
reception will follow in the Church social
hall. Contributions can be made to the
