Richard D. Downs

Richard D. Downs, 65 of Glouster passed away
Wednesday July 22, 2009 at his residence.
Born October 9, 1943 in New Straitsville, he
was the son of the late Clarence and Flora
Guisinger Downs. He retired from Lempco in
New Lexington and was a member of the Trimble
Christian Church of the Hocking Valley
Parish. He was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland
Browns, Cincinnati Reds and Trimble Tomcat
fan.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Billie
Jo Stephenson Downs of Glouster; two
daughters, Jan (Jeff) Browning of Millfield
and Jennifer Boudinot of Nelsonville; five
grandchildren, Kevin Boudinot, Jaime Browning,
Kacie Boudinot, Jeffrey Browning, and Gracie
Boudinot; one sister, Janet Peart of New
Straitsville; one brother, Chuck (Lynn) Downs
of New Straitsville; two sisters-in-law, Ruth
Downs of New Straitsville and Verla Penrod of
Nelsonville; one brother-in-law, Ellis Spicer;
and several nieces and nephews, great nieces
and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by three sisters, Dolly (Harold) Jaynes, Carol
(Bill) Miller, and Lynne Spicer; two infant
sisters, Shirley and Brenda; two brothers, Don
and Joe Downs; one infant brother, Clarence; a
sister-in-law, Jan Stephenson; and a brother-
in-law, Bob Penrod.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Monday July 27, 2009 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Rev. Deanna
White officiating. Interment will be in the
Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may
call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 7
