Matthew Harlan Buckman

Matthew Harlan Buckman, 37 of Jacksonville, passed away Monday October 20, 2025, at his residence. He was born August 2, 1988, in Athens. He was an avid fan of both the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Minnesota Vikings. In addition to his love for sports, he enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing and camping.

He is survived by two daughters, Lily and Layla Buckman; the mother of his children, Sierra Buckman; his mother, Debra (Dave Lemon) Buckman; a brother, Shaun (Megan) Buckman;  a sister, Jessica (Dutch) Buckman; a special friend, Amanda; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert H. Buckman.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday October 25, 2025, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A visitation will take place on Saturday from 12 p.m. until the time of service.  Contributions can be made to Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio 45732 to assist with final expenses.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting the tribute wall at www.morrisonfc.com.
