Martha N. Murner

Martha N. Murner, 85 of McConnelsville passed
away Friday October 31, 2008 at her daughter's
residence. Born August 31, 1923 in
Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of the
late Paul and Ina Hobbs Porter. She attended
and taught Sunday school at the Mount Liberty
Church in Cutler. She enjoyed quilting,
canning, playing games with her grandchildren,
and taking care of her family.

She is survived by one son, Clarence (Marty)
Jarvis Jr., of Athens; four daughters, Joyce
(Troy) Boone of Cutler, Kathryn (Garland)
Brookover of Coolville, Charlotte (Vern)
Hogsett of McConnelsville, and Freda Kelley of
McConnelsville; 20 grandchildren; several
great grandchildren; several great great
grandchildren; two brothers, Richard (Bonnie)
Porter of Johnson, TN, and Keith (Sarah)
Porter of Surprise, AZ; and one sister, Joyce
White of Wellston.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by her first husband, Clarence Jarvis; her
second husband, Ezra Murner; eight brothers
and sisters; three grandchildren; and one
great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Tuesday November 4, 2008 at the Mount Liberty
Church in Cutler with Pastor Roger Cummings
officiating. Interment will be in the Mount
Liberty Cemetery. Friends may call at the
Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville
on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and also one hour
prior to the service at the church. A
