Marilyn L. Crum, 64 of Athens passed away
Sunday September 13, 2009 at Doctor's
Hospital, Columbus. Born August 27, 1945 in
Athens County, she was the daughter of the
late Charles L. and Sarah Pitts Hiles. She
was founder and pastor of the Bright and
Morning Star Church in Chauncey and formerly
worked at Hickory Creek Nursing Home. Marilyn
and her husband John formerly owned and
operated the Crum Texaco Station in Chauncey.
She is survived by one son, John Crum of
Chauncey; one daughter, Sherry (Roger) Taylor
of Athens; two granddaughters, Sarah and
Rebekah Taylor, both of Athens; three sisters,
Shirley Taylor of Buchtel, Anna Hiles of
Frazeysburg, and Mary Litteral of McArthur.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by her husband, John Crum; a son, Paul Allen
Crum; two brothers, Charles and Bill Hiles;
and a sister, Carolyn Urban.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Thursday September 17, 2009 at the Morrison
Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with
Danny LeMaster officiating. Interment will be
in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends
may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from
2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A comforting message
