Margaret V. Morris, 96, passed away Monday June 17, 2024, at the Worthington Christian Village. Formerly of Glouster, Margaret has resided in Blacklick for the last four years. Born October 13, 1927, in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late John D. and Doris Elizabeth Camp Chapman. She graduated from Athens High School in 1945 and later retired from Ohio University. She was a member of the Glouster Church of Christ, the Worthington Christian Church, the Three Star Senior Center in Glouster and the Athens Senior Club, where she enjoyed line dancing. Margaret was also a member of the Community Choir and past President of the Trimble Local School P.T.O and Trimble Band Boosters.
She is survived by two sons, Gregg E. (Kimberly) Morris of Blacklick and John R. (Barbara) Morris of Chillicothe; a daughter, Jane (Thurlin) Morris-Maynard of The Plains; grandchildren, Brian (Timberlee) Morris, Christopher Morris, Amy (Todd) Morris Yosick, Dawn (Caleb) Morris Christman, Dustin (Jadlyn) Morris, Melissa Morris Kilbarger, Jason Morris, Brody Morris, Jordan (Yvette) Morris, T. Brent Maynard, and Michelle (Delante) Maynard Thomas; 26 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a brother, J.D. (Billie) Chapman of Juliette, Georgia; special friends, Cathy Morris, Robyn Cecil Morris, Melissa Hysell Maynard; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Morris; a grandson, James R. Morris; and a brother, Daniel K. Chapman.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday June 24, 2024, at the Glouster Church of Christ, 32 Fairlawn Ave., Glouster, 45732 with Caleb Christman and Dr. Austin Seevers officiating. Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Visitation will take place at the church on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
