Luerna A. (Giffen) Spears

Luerna A. Spears, 61 of Athens passed away Saturday January 4, 2025, at the Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. Born May 15, 1963, she was the daughter of the late Joe and Wilma Stires Giffen. Her hobbies included cleaning, cooking and fishing.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Spears; sons, Gary Giffen and Harold Joseph Spears Sr; a grandson, Harold Joseph Spears Jr; a brother, Lennie (Laura) Giffen; sister, Paula Giffen; nieces and nephew, Grace and Lisa Giffen and Hailey and Dillon Jackson.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Travis Spears and a brother, Eugene Giffen. 

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday January 28, 2025 at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until the time of service.
