Lewis C. Schoenian, 89, of Glouster passed
away Monday July 31, 2006 at the Fairfield
Medical Center, Lancaster. He was born August
28, 1916 in Trimble. He was the son of the
late William A. and Clara Bauer Schoenian. He
was the husband of the late Elsie Grinstead
Schoenian. He was a World War II Army
Veteran. He was a member of the Bishopville
Church of Christ, a fifty year member of the
Glouster Masonic Lodge #607 where he was a
past master and secretary for over 30 years,
he was the past District Deputy of the 17th
Masonic District, he was a member and past
Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Stars
Thea Chapter 192, he was a member of the
Howard's Stars district #25, and a member of
the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of
Cambridge.
He is survived by 1 son, Larry (Jane)
Schoenian of Glouster; 3 grandchildren, Jody
(Deward) Mayles of The Plains, Lara (Jan)
Hooper of Glouster, and Erin Schoenian of
Glouster; 3 great grandchildren, Chastidy
Heller, Phillip Richards, and Max Hooper; 2
great great grandchildren, Brian and Joscelyn
Heller; 2 sisters, Margaret Yarnell of Fresno,
CA and Audrey Gahn of Columbus; and 2 special
friends, Charles Faires and John Standley,
both of Glouster.
Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded
in death by 1 great grandson, Eric Richards; 2
brothers, Norman and Arthur Schoenian; and 1
sister, Leona Palmer.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Friday August 4, 2006 at the Bishopville
Church of Christ with John Wright
officiating. Interment will be in the Hilltop
Cemetery, Millfield where there will be a
military graveside service conducted by the
Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call
at the church on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to
8 p.m. where there will be a Masonic Service
conducted at 7:30 p.m. Contributions can be
