Jon Malone

Jon Malone, 58 of Chauncey passed away Monday February 17, 2025, at his residence.  Born July 20, 1966, in Franklin County, he was the son of the late Kenneth Malone and Peggy McBride Malone. 

Jon was formerly employed by Chimney Sweep in Logan and the Chauncey Marathon. He enjoyed watching dirt track car racing, drives along country back roads, and eagerly anticipated the annual family pontoon outing on Burr Oak Lake.

He is survived by his wife, Annissa Shifflet Malone of Chauncey; two daughters, Stephanie (John) Williams of Jacksonville and Krista-Lynn (Ben) Claussen of The Plains; an expected granddaughter, Emmalyn Jane, due in June 2025; sisters, Vicki Schell of Chauncey and Susan Malabuyoc of Florence, AZ; sisters-in-law, Angela Strock and Barb Malone; brothers-in-law, Terry and Corey Shifflet; several nieces and nephews; a good friend, Jody Parks; and his fur babies, Bella and Bea.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Bob and Scott Malone; and a niece, Brandi Parks.

 The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Ohio Health Hospice, with special acknowledgment to Charles Kish, for their compassionate care during Jon’s illness.

As per Jon's wishes, he was cremated and no services will be held.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting the tribute wall at www.morrisonfc.com.
