John Dixon Obituary

John William Dixon, 63, of Glouster, passed
away Tuesday October 19, 2004 at his
residence. He was born August 15, 1941 in
Glouster, Ohio.

He was employed by The Ohio Department of
Corrections at the Southeast Ohio Correctional
Institute in Lancaster. He formerly worked at
Meigs Mine #2. He was a member of the Trimble
Masonic Lodge #0557, a member of the UMW and
was a graduate of Glouster High School.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years Joyce
Ann Malone Dixon, his mother Grace Dixon
Rankin
of Glouster, children Johnny Ray (Marcy) Dixon
of Jacksonville, Larry (Karla) Dixon of
Glouster, Matt (Jane) Dixon of Glouster, and
Jordan Dixon of Glouster, 10 grandchildren,
and
7 great grandchildren, 2 brothers; Jerry W.
Dixon of Glouster and Richard L. (Linda) Dixon
of Glouster, 2 sisters; Patricia J. Smith of
Glouster, and Lou Ann (Jerry) Lenigar of
Glouster, a brother-in-law Lawrence (Gerda)
Malone of Georgia, a mother-in-law, Anna L.
Malone of Glouster, and several nieces and
nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father John W.
Dixon Sr., and a father-in-law Lawrence A.
Malone.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Friday October 22, 2004 at the Glouster Church
of Christ with Don Seevers, Pastor Steve
Bentley, and Wendall Humphrey officiating.
Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery,
Glouster. Friends may call at the Morrison
Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville on
Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. where there will be
a
Masonic Service held at 7:30 p.m. A
