Hubert V. Thompson, 83 of New Straitsville
passed away Friday December 5, 2008 at the
Hocking Valley Community Hospital, Logan.
Born June 11, 1925 in New Straitsville, he was
the son of the late Jessie Lee and Maude Mae
Milliron Thompson. He retired from the Rice
Oil Company in Akron. He was a WWII army
veteran, a member of the Nelsonville Wesleyan
Church, and a life member of the Nelsonville
V.F.W.
He is survived by two daughters, Christina
Haines-Ball of Hebron and Ramonda Williams of
Zanesville; two sons, Charles and Larry
Thompson; grandchildren and great
grandchildren; two sisters, Glenna Brenan of
Florida and Patricia (Abe) Neal of Mentor; and
several nieces and nephews and great nieces
and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday December 10, 2008 at the Wesleyan
Church in Nelsonville with Pastor Mike Thomas
officiating. Interment will be in the New
Straitsville Cemetery where there will be a
military graveside service conducted by the
Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may call
at the church on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
