Harry Taylor Obituary

Harry H. Taylor, 88 of Glouster passed away
Sunday May 4, 2008 at his residence. Born
January 12, 1920 in Morgan County, he was the
son of the late Leonard Taylor and Martha
Grandstaff McCune. Harry was hard working and
self-taught. He was a WWII Army Air Corps
Veteran. He was a Christian and a faithful
member of the Hooper Ridge Church of Christ.
He was a retired rural mail carrier who worked
from both Trimble and Glouster Post Offices.
Prior to his postal service, he was employed
by the Rich-Loaf Bakery in Glouster. He was
also a local farmer who gave to others from
his farm's abundance. Harry loved life and
lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed
traveling, camping, fishing, gardening, and
reading. He especially enjoyed visiting with
people and telling stories and jokes.

Among those who will miss him, are his
children, Sue Ann (Tommy) Rinehart of Gates,
NC, Jack (Lavenia) Taylor of Greenbackville,
VA, and Sally (Bill) Taylor-Gardner of Athens;
great grandsons, Brian and Brent Wolfe of
Glouster; caretakers, Mark and Cheryl Wolfe of
Glouster; 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Taylor of
Canton and Barbara Taylor of Warwick, RI;
several nieces and nephews; and a very dear
friend, Mary Yerian of Bishopville.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by his wife of 52 years, Mary Margaret Milhoan
Taylor; his granddaughter, Terri Hogue Wolfe;
2 brothers, Howard and Gerald; his step
father, Charles "Ed" McCune; step brother,
Marion McCune; 3 sisters-in-law, Rose Taylor,
Dorothea Smith, and Charlene Milhoan; 2
brothers-in-law, Russell Smith and Charles
William Milhoan; his step sister-in-law, Rhea
McCune; and a fishing buddy, Bernard Porter.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Wednesday May 7, 2008 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Rodger
Powell officiating. Interment will be in the
Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may
call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions can be made
to the Hooper Ridge Church of Christ, 16295
