Harold L. Ross, 83 of Millfield, passed away on Sunday July 5, 2026, at his residence. He was born on September 19, 1942, in Cairo, WV, a son of the late Grover C. and Sadie Paugh Ross. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. After his military service, he worked for the City of Athens in the water and sewer department until his retirement. Harold was a former member of the Athens American Legion and enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca J. Moore Ross; daughters Kim (Mike) Sanders of Zanesville, Holly (Kenneth Talbott) Scott of Belpre, Kayla (Tyler Meyers) Ross of Langsville; sons Joe (Crystal) Ross of Florida, Jeff (Jennifer) Stull of Millfield; grandchildren Nicole, Eric, Aaron, Sarah, Brandon, Bobby, Sami, Braxton, Kaylin, Sophia, Tara, Christopher, and Lyra; 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by all 11 of his older siblings.
A cremation has taken place, and there will be a Celebration of Life held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville. A message of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting his tribute wall at www.morrisonfc.com.
