Gay B. Merrill, 79 of Glouster, passed away
Monday April 6, 2009 at her home. Born March
24, 1930 in Glouster, she was the daughter of
the late Willard and Beatrice Lewis Buchman of
Glouster. She attended Glouster High School
and graduated from North High School in
Columbus. She retired as a medical assistant
for Dr. O'Brien and Dr. McGaverin in Columbus
and was a member of the Bishopville Church of
Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Fouty
and son-in-law, Clarence of Columbus; a
brother, Ralph (Clara) Buchman of Glouster; a
sister Ruth Lockwood of Arizona; four step
daughters, Susie, Judy, Melissa, and Jan;
several nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law,
Annabelle Buchman of Marietta; and her dog and
pal, Brownie who will miss her.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by her husband, William Merrill; two brothers,
Tom and Richard Buchman; and a sister, Alice
Kincade.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Thursday April 9, 2009 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with John Wright
officiating. Interment will be in the
Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may
call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5
