Fred North Obituary

Fred V. North, 79, of Glouster, passed away
Sunday April 2, 2006 at the Grant Medical
Center, Columbus. He was born April 13, 1926
in Glouster. He was the son of the late
Elwood and Clara Matheny North. He was a
World War II Army Veteran where he received a
victory medal and also an Army of Japan
Occupation Medal. He retired from Chrysler
Motor Company in Detroit, MI. after 25 years
and also from the Wayne National Forest in
Athens after 6 years. He attended the
Bishopville Church of Christ. He was a member
of the Noble of Mystic Shrine in Detroit, he
was the Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret
32nd Degree of the Northern Masonic
Jurisdiction in Detroit, and also a member of
the Kasler's Coffee Club. He had a great love
for the outdoors, and he was an avid
fisherman.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Linda
Grant North of Glouster; 2 sons, Eddie
(Arlene) North of Huber Heights, OH, and David
(Linda) North of Carbon Hill; 5 daughters,
Barbara (Buck) Post of Glouster, Dolly (Ken)
Yerian of Glouster, LaVonda Lent of
Zanesville, Tanya North of Glouster, and Lisa
North of Truetown; 26 grandchildren; 38 great
grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2
sisters, Wanda Smith of Huntsville, AL, and
Debbie Reynolds of Lancaster; a mother-in-law,
Sarah Grant; a daughter-in-law, Eva North; a
very dear friend Delores North; and his dear
companion, his dog squirt.

He was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Gene,
Blackie, Bob, and Junior North; 4 sisters,
Violet and June North, Thelma Brooks, and
Bonnie Banik; and his father-in-law, Fred
Grant.

The family would like to extend a special
thanks to Dr. Norma Flores for all her care.

Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m.
Wednesday April 5, 2006 at the Bishopville
Church of Christ with John Wright
officiating. Friends may call at the church
on Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of
service. Contributions can be made to the
Bishopville Church of Christ, c/o Ted Swallow,
18 Madison St., Glouster, OH 45732.
