Forrest Rose Smith, 85 of Glouster passed away
Saturday July 21, 2007 at the Hickory Creek
Nursing Center, The Plains. Born September
22, 1921 in Morgan County, she was the
daughter of the late Elmer and Sylvia Roberts
Shaner. She was the owner and operator of
the Sewing Nook in Glouster and a member of
the Glouster Depot Project.
She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis
(George) Demchak of Woodsfield; 3 sons, Robert
(Janet) Smith of Dayton, Roger (Carolyn) Smith
of Albany, and Kurt (Sherry) Smith of
Glouster; 8 grandchildren; 17 great
grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 4
sisters, Audrey Steffy of Glouster, Betty
McCall of Bishopville, Pearl Pierce of Newark,
and Lois Smith of Reynoldsburg; and 3
brothers, Lawrence Shaner of Glouster, David
Shaner of Malta, and Mark Shaner of Glouster.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by her husband of 60 years, Elijah E. "Punch"
Smith; and 2 brothers, Lowell and Ivan Shaner.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on
Tuesday July 24, 2007 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with John Wright
officiating. Interment will be in the
Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends may
call at the funeral home on Monday
