Ethel Lucille Blower 97 of Glouster passed away Wednesday Jan.28, 2004 at the Horizon Nursing Center, Daytona Beach, FL. She was born Aug.14, 1906 in Frazeysburg, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph T. Gardner. She was the wife of the late Willis Enoch Blower whom she married February 19, 1938 in Lexington, KY and they made their home in Glouster, Ohio.
She was a graduate of Frazeysburg High School, Zanesville Business College, and Capital University, Columbus. She was employed by the State Banking Department in Portsmouth, Ohio where she retired as a bank examiner in 1938. She was a member of the Glouster Rothwell Club and the Glouster United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years.
She is survived by a son James N. Blower of Columbus, daughter- in-law Dixie L. Blower of Port Orange, FL, two grandchildren Willis C. Blower of Port Orange, FL., and Jami (Greg) Koons of Glouster, five great grandchildren Halli and Megan of Daytona Beach, FL, Kelsie Schwarzel of Athens, and Skylar Schwarzel and Peyton Koons of Glouster. Also survived by five nephews.
Preceded in death by sisters, Ruth Baker and Edith Schooler and brother George Gardner.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 4, 2004 at the Glouster United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hal Ketton officiating. Interment will be in the Elk Cemetery McArthur, Ohio. Friends may call at the Church from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. Contributions can be made to the Glouster United Methodist Church PO Box 247 Jacksonville, Ohio 45740. Arrangements are by the Hughes-Moquin Funeral Home, Athens and Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.
