Ernest G. Lanning

Ernest G. Lanning, 70 of Ringgold passed away
Sunday November 11, 2007 at the Genesis
Extended Care Facility, Zanesville. Born
March 18, 1937 in Murray City, he was the son
of the late Lawrence and Mae Schooley
Lanning. He retired from the Coffman's
Staircase in Logan. He attended the Ringgold
Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda McLaughlin
Lanning of Ringgold; 1 son, Daniel (Nico)
Lanning of Columbus; 1 daughter, Ramona
Lanning of Logan; 2 step sons, Larry
(Christina) Hook of Glouster, Ed (Beth) Hook
of Lancaster; 3 step daughters, Trinda (Gary)
Brooks of Glouster, Lori (Bud) Dotson of
Haydenville, and Rebecca (Rickey) Moody of
Buchtel; 3 grandchildren; 27 step
grandchildren; 2 brothers, Burell (Barbara)
Lanning of Glouster and Donald Lanning of New
Straitsville; 4 sisters, Kathleen (Lawrence)
Mitchell of Coshocton, Shirley Steinmetz of
Logan, Virginia Lanning of Logan, and Ada
(Bob) Emrick of Kentucky; 2 special nephews,
Kent (Kathy) Steinmetz of Logan, and Steve
(Serena) Lanning of Glouster; and several
other nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by a step son, Rob Hook; 2 brothers, Larry and
Hiram Lanning; and 2 sisters, Lucy Thomas and
Norma Withem.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Wednesday November 14, 2007 at the Bishopville
Church of Christ with Pastor Monte Hurst and
James Thompson officiating. Interment will be
in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends
may call at the Morrison Funeral Chapel,
Glouster-Bishopville on Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7
