Emmett E."Hud" Olbers, 78 of Glouster passed
away Tuesday October 21, 2008 at his
residence. He was born February 23, 1930 in
Athens County. He was the owner and operator
of Hud's Service Station in Glouster for 45
years. He was an army Korean war veteran, a
member of the Jacksonville V.F.W. Post 9866
and the Glouster Masonic Lodge F&AM #607.
He is survived by his wife Julia Ann Gyure
Olbers of Glouster; a son, Emmett "Butch"
Olbers of Glouster; two daughters, Amy Jo Ward
of Jacksonville and Becky Olbers of Marietta;
two grandsons, Randall Ward Jr. and Justin
Ward; and two great grandchildren, Mariah and
Cayden Ward.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett
E. Olbers and his mother, Myrtle Brown Olbers
Law; an infant daughter, Debbie Olbers; and
two brothers, Bill and Don Olbers.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Saturday October 25, 2008 at the Morrison
Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.
Interment will be in Hilltop Cemetery,
Millfield where there will be a military
graveside service conducted by the Combined
Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the
funeral home on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8
