Ellis "Pete" G. Skinner, 81, of Glouster passed
away Sunday May 16, 2004 at the Kimes Nursing
and Rehab Center, Athens. He was born November
1, 1922 in Glouster. He was the son of the
late Ernest "Jud" and Ruth E. Withem Skinner.
He previously worked as a coal miner in the
Glouster area and he retired as a construction
survey engineer. He was a WWII Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Glenna Long Skinner
of Glouster, a son Terry M. Skinner of
Glouster, 3 grandchildren Terrylynn Skinner of
Glouster, Christopher Skinner of Phoenix, AZ,
and Randy Skinner of Fairborn, OH.
He was preceded in death by a daughter in law
Margie Guffey Skinner, 7 brothers Jessie,
Daine, Dallas, Lawrence, Willard, Delbert, and
Albert Skinner, 4 sisters Mary Alice Kelly,
Melvina Pincelli, Marjorie Burdette, and
Annette Nott.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am
Thursday May 20, 2004 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel Glouster-Bishopville with the Rev. Jim
Brown officiating. Interment will be in the
Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster where there will
be a military service conducted by the Combined
Color Guard Unit. Friends may call at the
funeral home on Wednesday from 5 to 8 pm.
