Edgar L. Hampton

Edgar L. Hampton Jr., 65 of McConnelsville passed away Friday October 2, 2026, at his residence.  Born June 12, 1961, in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Edgar L. Hampton Sr. and Ruth E. Judson Hampton. 

He is survived by a son, Edgar L. (Terri) Hampton III of Texas; grandchildren, Alexis, Destiny, Tony, Cameron, Samuel, Austin, and Charlie; sisters, Debbie (Lee) Newburn of Chesterhill, Linda (Randy Sr.) Campbell of McConnelsville, and Gina (Anees) Khan of Circleville; a sister-in-law, Dee Hampton of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and Gary Hampton.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday October 7, 2026, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Pastor Mike Wells officiating.  Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery, Morgan County.  A visitation will take place on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 State Route 78, Glouster, Ohio 45732, to assist with final expenses.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.morrisonfc.com.
