David W. Rutter

David W. Rutter, 59 of Nelsonville, passed away Saturday October 25, 2025, at his residence.  Born April 2, 1966, in Nelsonville, he was the son of the late Robert and Delores Spears Rutter.  He was considered a “jack of all trades”. David enjoyed hunting for ginseng and yellow root. 

He is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Steven) Kellar-Spears of Corning and Leesha Santek of Columbus; three brothers, John Eugene Rutter of Glouster, Rick (Judy) Rutter of Zanesville, and Roger Rutter of Nelsonville; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Duncan Rutter; sons, Jimmy and Kevin Kellar; two brothers, Tommy and Steve Rutter; a sister, Carolyn Rutter; and his special companion of many years, Penny Abrams.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday October 30, 2025, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating.  Interment will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield.  A visitation will take place on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  Contributions can be made to Morrison Funeral Chapel, 6525 State Route 78 Glouster, Ohio 45732 to assist with final expenses.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
