Daniel R. Sharp

Daniel R. Sharp, 74 of Amesville passed away Monday April 27, 2026, at O.S.U. Wexner Medical Center.  He was born October 22, 1951, at Sheltering Arms Hospital, Athens.  He was the son of the late William Herbert and June Arline Eckard Sharp.  He graduated in 1970 from Federal Hocking.  Daniel was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  He previously worked for Gibson International Truck Parts, Columbus Diesel Supply, and TNT Truck Parts.  After retirement, Daniel worked part time at Bedrock Rental and Richland Avenue Auto Parts.  He was a member of the Athens Elks Lodge #973.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Regina Ormiston Sharp; a brother, Dave (Terri) Sharp; sister-in-law, Pam (Don) Downum; children, Dan II (Jennifer) Sharp, Heidi (Rusty) Richards, and Travis (Katie Fleer) Sharp; grandchildren, Daryl and Luke Sharp, Reiston Richards, and Carly Sharp; and many loving relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kaye; a brother, Dennis “Alb”; a daughter, Melissa; a granddaughter, Raylinn Richards; a nephew, Jason Sharp; in-laws, Vance and Cleo Ormiston; and many loving relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 2, 2026, at the Bishopville Church of Christ with Joe Kasler officiating.  Interment will be in the Amesville Cemetery where there will be a military graveside service conducted by the United States Navy and the Combined Color Guard Unit.  A visitation will take place at the church on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you make a donation to a charity of your choice.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting the tribute wall at www.morrisonfc.com.
