Charles Smathers Obituary

Charles E. Smathers, 69 of Trimble passed away
Thursday October 26, 2006 at O'Bleness
Memorial Hospital, Athens. He was born
September 17, 1937 in Buchtel. He was the son
of the late William and Helen Bryson Smathers.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Clara
Maxine Hogue Smathers; 5 sons, Charles "Butch"
(Cindy) Smathers of Glouster, David (Alice)
Smathers, of Silvercreek, NY, Todd Smathers of
Trimble, Jack (Amy) Smathers of Jacksonville,
and Terry Smathers of Trimble; 1 daughter,
Brenda (Rodney) King of Athens; 10
grandchildren, Kaytlynn and Corey Smathers,
Christy and Charlie Smathers, Joshua, Jeremy,
Bradley, Thomas, Kelly, and Isaac King; 2
great grandchildren, Aaron and Mcenzie
Henhawk; 1 brother, Victor (Leona) Smathers of
Circleville; several nieces and nephews; and
his loving dog, Fred.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by 3 grandsons, David E. Smathers, and Jason
and Joseph King; 2 brothers, Willard and
George Smathers; and 2 sisters, Dorothy
Spencer and Erma Mills.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on
Monday October 30, 2006 at the Morrison
Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with
Father Marty Holler officiating. Interment
will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday
