Charles T. “Timmie” Drake II, 41, of Barnesville and formerly of Glouster, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 20, 2024, at Barnesville Hospital due to a pulmonary embolism. He was born on February 5, 1983, in Athens. Timmie was employed by Tunnel Ridge Mine in Triadelphia, WV, and was a member of the Athens Chapter 76 AMVETS Riders. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, golfing, camping, and was a devoted fan of the Trimble Tomcats and Ohio State Buckeyes. Timmie was known for being the “life of the party.”
He is survived by his lifelong partner, Cassie Nicole Gang; his sons, Caleb T. (Savanna Ramsey) Drake and Dalton C. Drake; stepchildren, Serenity Dawn, Mandi Marie (Damian), and William Blade; a granddaughter, Remi; his mother, Janice (John) Smathers; his father, Charles “Tim” (Jane) Drake; his maternal grandmother, Flora North; his maternal step-grandmother, Pat Bragg; his sisters, Amanda (Mario) Sawvel, Samantha (Kevin) Stalder, Tanaya Smathers, Shauna Cordle, Hanna (Anthony) Lipp and Betty (Vaul) Dearing; his brothers, Tyler Drake, Zachary (Karly) Bragg, Josh Smathers, Dakota (Brooklyn) Smathers, and Kevin Carpenter Jr.; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Harold Bragg; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Nancy Drake; and a special friend, Adam Jago.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at Morrison Funeral Chapel in Glouster-Bishopville. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Messages of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
