Charles W. Dixon, 67, of Glouster passed away
Tuesday January 2, 2007 at Riverside Methodist
Hospital, Columbus. He was born August 18,
1939 in Glouster. He was the son of the late
Charles W. Sr. and Harriett Clark Dixon. He
was the meat manager for 30 years at the Cash
and Carry Grocery Store in Venice, FL. and was
an avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Janet
M. Harmon Dixon of Glouster; 2 daughters, Tina
Dixon of Glouster, and Sherry Uhlig of North
Port, FL; 4 grandchildren, Sabrina Dixon,
Janet Uhlig, Charles Uhlig, and Michael Goode;
1 great granddaughter, Jasmine Uhlig; 1
brother, Jim Dixon; 6 sisters, Deliah,
Shirley, Alice, Carolyn, Billie Jo, and Janie;
a mother-in-law, Effie Sexton; several nieces
and nephews; his golf buddies; and many
friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by a daughter, Vicki Dixon; 2 sisters, Betty
and Mary; a special aunt, Mabel Kiraly; and a
father-in-law, Harry Harmon.
Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. on
Saturday January 6, 2007 at the Bishopville
Church of Christ with John Wright
officiating. Friends may call at the church
on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of
service. At Charles' request, he will be
cremated following the services.
