Cathy Morris

Cathy M. Morris, 72 of Jacksonville, passed away Saturday December 14, 2024, at The James Cancer Hospital in Columbus.  Born January 17, 1952, in Athens, she was the daughter of the late Arlene Champe and James Andrews. Cathy retired from Ohio University.

She is survived by her daughter Melissa Kilbarger of Jacksonville; a son Jason Morris of The Plains; grandchildren Aaron, Kyle, JR, Kenzie, Jelissa, and Jibreel; great grandchildren Zahara and Sawyer; a brother James (Nina) Andrews; sisters Diana (Craig) Miller, Jacalyn (Bill) Patton, Martha Dolan and Cynthia (John) Campbell; and close friends Cathy Sayre, Jane Schultz, Debbie Shust and Becky Hughes.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son Jamie Morris and stepfather Ruler Champe.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday December 19, 2024, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville, with Jon Hanning officiating.  Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the service on Thursday.  Contributions can be made to Chix-4-A-Cure, 8314 St. Rt. 685, Glouster, OH 45732 or ALS of Ohio, 1170 Old Henderson Rd #22, Columbus, OH 43220.  A message of comfort may be sent to the family at www.morrisonfc.com.
