Brenda E. Smith, 72 of Nelsonville passed away Saturday July 20, 2024, at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster. Born August 3, 1951, in Columbus, she was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Keturah E. Dowler Jolley. Brenda was formerly employed as a STNA at the Pine Hills Nursing Home, Nelsonville. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and journaling.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Smith of Nelsonville; a daughter, Beth Smith of Chauncey; two grandchildren, Rilyn and Jase Kempton; two brothers, Ralph (Teena) Jolley of Nelsonville and William (Sandra) Jolley of Marietta; a sister, Betty Jo (Charlie) McCollister of Millfield; a brother-in-law, Don (Cindy) Smith; and a sister-in-law, Diane (Gary) Roth.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Ann Smith; and a brother-in-law, Dale Robert Smith.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday July 25, 2024, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Jon Hanning officiating. Interment will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville. A visitation will take place on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd.
