Bernice Hodgson Obituary

Bernice P. Hodgson, 92 of Jacksonville passed
away Sunday July 15, 2007 at the O'Bleness
Memorial Hospital, Athens. Born June 18, 1915
in Oakdale, she was the daughter of the late
Charles Allen and Georgia Johnson Barnes. She
worked several years for the Lamborn's Studio
in Glouster. She was a member of the Oakdale
Friendship Circle, and a member and former
pianist at the Oakdale Church of Christ.

She is survived by 3 sons, Martin Wayne
(Bonnie) Lowery of Jacksonville, Allen Lowery
of Pensacola, FL, and Norman (Emily) Lowery
Jr. of Bishopville; 1 daughter, Sally Hines of
Belpre and friend Jim Lyons; a daughter-in-
law, Margaret Lowery of Glouster; a step-son,
Bill (Pat) Hodgson of McConnelsville; a step-
daughter, Judy Barkhurst of Port Charlotte,
FL; a sister, Jean (George) Stangelo of
Massillon; 14 grandchildren; 24 great
grandchildren; and 5 great great
grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death
by her first husband, Norman S. Lowery Sr.,
her second husband, Arthur Hodgson; a son,
Robert L. Lowery; a son-in-law, Jim Hines; an
infant grandson; a brother, Arthur Barnes; a
sister and brother-in-law, Mable (Jim)
Billingsley; and a step son-in-law, Gary
Barkhurst.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on
Wednesday July 18, 2007 at the Bishopville
Church of Christ, Bishopville with
Rodger Powell officiating. Interment will be
in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster. Friends
may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2
to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Contributions can be
made to the Oakdale Church of Christ, 22808
Oakdale Rd., Glouster, Ohio 45732.
