Anthony Oskey Obituary

Anthony "Tony" Edward Oskey, 53, of Glouster
passed away Friday December 26, 2003 at the
Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, after
an extended illness. He was born October 24,
1950 in Athens, Ohio. He was the son of the
late Edward and Bonnie Jeanne (Sayre) Oskey.

Tony was a 1968 graduate of Glouster High
School and attended Ohio University in Athens,
Ohio. He served a 14 year military career in
the Air Force and Army and later retired from
the U.S. Postal service in Athens and
Glouster, where he was a mail carrier for
several years. He was a member of the Glouster
Lions Club, the Trimble Masonic Lodge #557 and
the Jacksonville Eagles #1034. He was an avid
baseball fan and enjoyed collecting baseball
card memorabilia, arrowheads, and trains. He
was a member of the Railroad Model and
Historical Society of Southeastern Ohio Inc.

Tony is survived by his wife Rebecca (Shifflet)
Oskey, a daughter and son-in-law, Brian and
Jennifer (Oskey) Mays of Logan, Ohio, a
daughter Melissa Ann Oskey, a daughter and son-
in-law, Mike and Debra (Oskey) Pickett of
Crawfordsville, In, and a daughter Toni Lynn
Oskey at home. He is also survived by five
grandchildren, Morgan, Mason and Mackenzie
Mays, and Dominic and Mallory Pickett.

Tony will be sadly missed by a sister and
brother-in-law, Paul and Lisa (Oskey) Sawyer of
Grove City and a brother and sister-in-law,
Steve and Pam Oskey of Chino Hills, Ca. His
remembrance will remain strong within his
several nieces and nephews, aunts, cousins, in-
laws, family, and many close friends.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday
December 30, 2003 at the Bishopville Church of
Christ, Glouster-Bishopville with the Rev.
Donald Hadaway officiating. Interment will be
in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster where there
will be a Military Graveside Service conducted
by the Combined Color Guard Unit. Friends may
call at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-
Bishopville on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. where
there will be a Masonic Service conducted at
7:00 p.m.
