Andy Duncan, 58 of Glouster went home to be
with his Lord after a long courageous battle
of leukemia on Tuesday May 19, 2009 at the
James Cancer Center in Columbus. Andy lost
his battle due to complications from side
effects. Born August 18, 1950 in Morgan
County, he was the son of the late Glen and
Ruth Gibeaut Duncan. He was a member of the
Clemetie Amitie Masonic Lodge #285 in
Reinersville and a member of the Ancient
Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Cambridge.
He was also a member of the Glouster Baptist
Church, Glouster Eagles #468, Jacksonville
V.F.W. Post #9866. He was a member of the Boy
Scouts of America and was appointed an Eagle
Scout by the National Council. He was a
United States Army Veteran who was stationed
in Korea during the Vietnam Era from June 1970
to January 1972 and he completed training in
the Hawk Missile Defense System. He was
formerly employed by Carr Drilling in
Chesterhill and Virco Corporation in Reno,
Ohio.
He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years,
Mary Kamento Duncan of Glouster; three sons,
Chuck (Teresa), Robert (Connie), and Ronnie
(Becky); ten grandchildren; three brothers,
Glenn (Rose), Frank (Brenda), and Mike
(Penny); and one sister, Melissa Woodward
(Kim).
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death
by a son, Donnie Koon.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on
Tuesday May 26, 2009 at the Morrison Funeral
Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville with Pastor Bill
Wellman officiating. Family will receive
friends from 6 p.m. until the time of
service. There will be a Masonic service held
at 6:45 p.m. and a military service
immediately following conducted by the
combined color guard unit. A dinner will be
held following the memorial service in the
Bishopville Church of Christ social hall. A
