Barbara Shonborn Obituary

Barbara L. Shonborn, 80 of New Lexington, formerly of Glouster, passed away Monday April 15, 2024, at the Pickering House in Lancaster.  Born December 17, 1943, in Glouster, she was the daughter of the late Guy E. and Dorothy M. Hogue Shonborn.  She retired from Ohio University after 28 ½ years of service.  Barb was a member of the Trimble Church of Christ, attended the New Lexington Church of Christ, and was a former member of the Glouster Eagles Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, baking, and sunbathing. 

She is survived by a son, Chuck (Hallie) Hartley of Trimble; a daughter, Cathy (Paul) Kunkler of New Lexington; grandchildren, Brittany, Bethany, and Brandi Simons, Barbara Hartley, John (Becca) Hartley, and Margaret Hamill; and a special companion, John Sikorski.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Guy, and Jim Shonborn.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday April 20, 2024, at the Morrison Funeral Chapel, Glouster-Bishopville.  Interment will be in the Maplewood Cemetery, Glouster.  Visitation will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.  Contributions can be made to Fairhope Hospice, 282 Sells Rd.
